Half artist, half scientist, Tina brings geology and astronomy to her artwork - aiming to capture the mechanics of light and visual patterns of coastal geological processes. It is a contemporary search for the sublime through extreme simplicity, an impression of something familiar and enticing yet overwhelmingly out of reach. An American-British artist who moved to Yorkshire four years ago, she identifies strongly with the English tradition of seascapes while retaining a "midwestern" eye for flat perspective and open spaces.

Artist sketchbooks, works in progress, and source material and images will all be out and available for visitors to explore: flip through books, browse rough sketches and studies, see fossils and rock samples from landscapes I’m painting and drawing. I will also be sharing my latest book of Norway drawings, “Fjords: An artist’s notebook”, and my previous book of Saltwick Bay drawings can also be browsed.
