Inspired by the local landscapes of North Yorkshire and Howardian Hills. She creates work predominantly made from recycled ties and fabrics to add texture, colour and pattern. She works by layering and blending materials and by sewing drawings and burning back layers to reveal hints of pattern to add perspective.
When entering the village from York turn left just after the Highwayman Pub onto West End. The studio is at the white cottage situated on the right hand side half way down the road.
Parking on driveway available and on street parking.
The studio is separate from the cottage. It is over a gravel driveway and a small step up into the building. The doors are very wide and will allow wheelchair access.
Toilet on ground floor
The studio has an exhibition space where finished work will be on display. In addition to this there will be examples of sketch books, sample books and work in progress. The space will be set up to show working practices and tools of the trade.
