Statement

I make sculptures from wire and mesh, of wild and domestic birds and beasts, everything from wrens to horses.  I aim for an understanding of physiognomy and behaviour, how muscles move as a subject walks or turns, in order to convey a sense of life captured at a particular moment.

Studio experience

There will be sculptures in the workshop at different stages of progress so I’ll be able to demonstrate the main methods and techniques involved, the primary tools**and how I use different materials.  Our workspace/studio will display indoor work, with larger outdoor work in the garden. If selected, the other artists at this venue will bring their own ‘added value’ demos. The garden is planted to attract bees, butterflies and birds and seats and a summerhouse are available.
