Catriona Stewart's studio is in the large granary above the historic Highfield Racing Stables near Malton. The virginia creeper-covered building itself is remarkable, with its red, painted doors, clock tower adorned with a weather vane and stables for forty four racehorses, strings of which can be seen going out in the mornings to the nearby gallops.
You'll see how Catriona's workspace resonates through to her paintings, which often feature horses, sometimes as symbolic or mythological creatures.
Catriona is sharing her space with ceramicist Jill Ford who will have her new porcelain collection available and will be running demonstrations on how to make a textured porcelain wall piece at 11am each day.
