StatementMany sources mingle in Carol's artwork - recurring issues are time and memory. This fascination directs her research into the tradition of "memento mori" painting, and an examination into the display of collections, particularly those found in the "Wunderkammern" of bygone years. Botany is another influence, not just living plants, but also their origins in taxonomy and historical plant collecting. Carol believes teaching art maintains her interest in traditional media and her practice encompasses drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and digital imagery.
