StatementCaroline is a mixed-media, machine embroiderer who uses natural fabrics as backgrounds, which are painted and dyed before being embellished with machine stitching. She often incorporates antique lace, whitework and printed or woven silks into her work, appliquéing them to the backgrounds created. Her sources of inspiration are virtually unlimited: at the moment her main source of inspiration are birds and the landscapes they inhabit, medieval illuminated manuscripts and storytelling.
