StatementExploring notions of self, identity, memory and loss, Judith uses textural fragments to facilitate personal connections with her Canadian past. Her oil paintings incorporate graphite, charcoal and graphite powder, which provide the link between the text and the texture of her paintings. She also produces works on paper and prints. Her current series continues the link with the pencil written diaries of her explorer grandmother, who mapped part of Labrador in 1905, and provide the narrative to her art.
