StatementJane's main inspiration for painting is colour and the surrounding countryside. She uses acrylics, which are great for spontaneous use of colour and building up in layers. She scratches through these layers to reveal hidden colours below and to create texture, which is an important part of the process for her. Though much of her work portrays qualities of light, stillness and atmosphere, she also produces less serious, more humorous images as well.
