StatementMark Laycock creates contemporary and sculptural furniture using high quality English hardwoods. His workshop is in the beautiful coastal village of Robin Hood's Bay, a few miles south of Whitby and surrounded by the North York Moors National Park. Using diseased and highly figured timber, often incorporating the natural bark edge, Mark creates one-of-a-kind pieces merging sculpture with furniture. His work is available both speculatively and to commission, allowing the commissioner to have a piece created for a particular occasion.
