StatementCarine's pieces are narrative and inspired by the Grimm's grimmest fairy tales, Heinrich Hoffmann's "Shock-headed Peter" book and other fairy tales. She is interested in the moral and messages hidden behind the stories, how some of those stories have changed with time, and what does it tell us about the social context of the time. Each piece is hand-built, biscuit-fired and finished with acrylic paint.
